A Family Weekend

It was my daughters birthday yesterday so she is home for the weekend and son and mum also here. That means minimal birding time. Yesterday I managed a short walk along the railway path with a small flock of Linnets the best birds seen. This morning I had a look in at Froxfield after shopping in Marlborough. Two Teal and ten Gadwall on the pool and nine Little Egrets with the cattle. This afternoon we went for a short walk around the lake at Lydiard Park.  Highlights were two Wigeon and two Little Grebe along with a single Shoveler. A hundred or so gull were made of Black-headed, LBB and Herring. Nuthatch and Great Spot were heard in the woods. Early doors tomorrow I am hoping to get out for a couple of hours as I seem to have been waking before six on recent mornings.
