A Quick Stop…

…was made at Wroughton Reservoir on my way home from work. Ten Little Grebes were the main birds of interest. Also here were seven Tufted Ducks, two Gadwall, a few Mallards, two Mute Swans and a Moorhen. There was no sign of the Plover flock alongside the road at Hodson but it was around three o’clock so they may well have headed off to roost.

Must have nearly bumped into you Malcolm for I went for another look at about 3 today and saw nothing. Do you get into Wroughton Resevoir? The only time I had a look I parked near the top houses, scrambled up the bank from the lane to peer through railings.

    • Same as you, up the bank and look down on the reservoir. There was a Dipper there a few years ago. I reckon morning is best for the Plovers. Hopefully they will be back.
