Hawk Moth in the Garden

A nice surprise this afternoon when I happened to glance out of the front window and saw a Hummingbird Hawk Moth feeding on one of my patio Buddleias.  By the time I got outside with my camera it had moved into the garden next door. I did manage a reasonable record shot though. Plenty of butterflies around again with a lone Brimstone amongst the Tortoiseshells, Peacocks and Whites. For the evening dog walk I decided on Smeathes Ridge where I was treated to a superb selection of Wood Pigeons and corvids. Also a single Swallow was seen rapidly  heading south. In a distant field near to Draycot Airfield there were several hundred gulls feeding. I would estimate at least six hundred. A fair way away for identification but I think they were mainly LBB.IMG_1770 (1024x768)
