So what if it’s raining

Actually I did start in the dry with a look in at Liden Lagoon on my way to the Water Park. Not much of note with a few Swallows low on the water and a handful of Gulls. From Twitchers I spent a fair bit of time scanning the scrape area and managed to find a few Waders. In descending order they were, five Lapwing, four Little Ringed Plover, three Oystercatchers, two Dunlin and singles of Redshank and Common Sandpiper. A couple of late stayers were three Teal and two Wigeon. Three Shelduck were chasing each other around. Over the water were hundreds of Swifts, Swallows and House Martins but only three Common Terns. Plenty of small birds around with Sedge and Reed Warbler, Chiffchaff, Blackcap and Garden Warbler all seen or heard. Later on in the day I made a brief visit to Coate Water, many Hirundines and four Common Tern were over the main lake. On the flood water, two each of Lapwing and Pied Wag.
