Second Day Running

I managed to get myself up to Liddington Hill again today. Same as yesterday, pop in home to get the dog and then park at Folly Farm. On getting out of the car I was greeted by a singing Song Thrush, a Mistle Thrush flew over and Fieldfare were heard but not seen. Heading along the track to the copse added singing Corn Bunting and Yellowhammer along with a few Pied Wagtails on a newly ploughed field. Also on this field were good numbers of Starlings, Crow, Rook and Jackdaws along with Black-headed and Lesser Black-backed Gulls. At the copse were a few Meadow Pipits and a Blackbird. A flock of Lapwing lifted off from another field and started to wheel around. After a few attempts I came up with a total of fifty-two before they headed off towards Coate Water. Carrying on along the lower edge of the ridge. Only Chaffinch and Skylark were new along here with still no sign of my first Wheatear of the year. I finished the walk with a creditable total of twenty species.
