Waders at the Water Park

An early morning visit to Kent End at the Water Park I saw a total of eighteen waders of seven species. Not bad for an inland county at a quiet time of year and hopefully a precursor for the passage period. Amongst the birds seen were, Green Sandpiper, Little Ringed Plover, Lapwing, Curlew, Redshank, Greenshank and Oystercatcher. Also here were Little Egret, Heron, Little Grebe, Common Tern, Swift, Sand Martin, Skylark, Linnet, Reed Bunting, Sedge Warbler, Green and Goldfinch, Blackcap, Whitethroat and Green Woodpecker. Overall species total was thirty-seven.
