Been up to London this weekend to visit my Mum, and managed a bit of local birding with a walk in Osterley Park. As usual, the first birds heard and seen were Ring Necked Parakeets although thankfully there were not as many around as usual. On the biggest lake were Cormorant, Heron, Great Crested Grebe, Tufted Duck, Mallard, Mandarin, Coot,Canada, and, Eygptian Geese with young. Not very exciting but nice to see. Not much seen on the land and on the other lake were another couple of Herons, some Mallard and plenty more Mandarins. Today was just garden birds plus a very brave fox which stood in the middle of the lawn watching us for a couple of minutes whilst we were sat in the conservatory. Also seen were a few Red Admirals, nice as butterflies are pretty uncommon at the moment.  I was trying to take some pictures of some Swifts but the aeroplanes going to Heathrow kept spoiling the pictures!
