My walk this evening was around Liddington Hill, along the Ridgeway, through Badbury and back home. I wasn’t expecting to see much due to the windy conditions. The ever reliable Corn Buntings were singing well although not from the tops of the trees as normal. Over twenty were seen overall. The usual support group of Yellowhammer, Skylark and Linnet were well represented.A Whitethroat was heard and a Yellow Wagtail flew over calling loudly. Next came this best birds of the evening when a couple of Curlews flew over heading west. After this a few Swifts and Swallows were seen along with singles of Meadow Pipit and Blackcap. The walk ended with a total of twenty species, pretty good considering the conditions.
