Meeting of the Seasons

When you are stood in the early evening sunshine watching Redwing while listening to your first Chiffchaff of the year you know that spring has arrived. I had gone for a quick walk around Coate Water after work  with the possibility of some early migrants in mind. As it was nothing new was seen. Gren Woodpecker was heard over on the golf course, plenty of birdsong all around and the usual mix of ducks on the water. A very smart male Pochard being the best. A Jay was noisily moving around by the far hide and a Grey Wagtail seen on the main dam. Thirty-two species seen wasn’t bad for an hours walking and birding.
